For over 60 years, Arapahoe Basin has been a haven for skiers but they also have much to offer their summertime guests, too. While it’s not what you’d expect from a ski resort in Colorado, Arapahoe Basin has a locale called the “Beach”. The area known as the Beach gets swarmed in the summertime where locals and guests party the day away with cooking, music and fun.
Basin is also home to so many other outdoor events in the summertime. One of their big highlights is their concert series entitled “Shakin’ at the Basin”, where a free concert ensues every Saturday in May. Visitors also enjoy the resort’s “Festival of the Brewpubs” where pubs from all over the state embark on Arapahoe Basin to show off their best beers.
Two other events, The Enduro race and the Marmot Grind, keep athletes busy in the summer with A-Basin’s mountainous terrain as their course.
Food is bountiful at Arapahoe Basin and their restaurants will tempt a variety of tastes. A-Basin’s restaurants include: The Legend Café, Snow Plume Refuge, Black Mountain Lodge and the 6th Alley Bar.
As far as accommodations go, Arapahoe Basin leaves that up to the surrounding Colorado cities. The resort has no lodges, timeshares or condominiums, so those visiting will need to look elsewhere for their lodging.
Those at Arapahoe Basin have understood that for over 60 years they have maintained a laid back atmosphere that families, couples and singles have come to admire. This summer, they hope that you’ll know just what they mean after your visit, too.
