Crystal Mountain, Washington
If you’re planning a trip to Washington this winter, then a stop at Crystal Mountain should be at the top of your list of things to do.
Crystal Mountain, considered the largest ski area in the state, offers skiers and snowboarders 2,600 acres for some prime winter fun. Of their over 50 named runs, 11% are designated for beginners, 54% are for intermediate skiers and 35% are designated for advanced or expert skiers. Voted the #7 top mountain in North America by SKIING Magazine, its obvious why guests become repeat guests after just one visit. Northway is one of the most popular runs and the longest run at Crystal Mountain measuring 2.5 miles.
While there are no other winter activities, like sledding, tubing or cross country skiing, at Crystal Mountain, everyone’s day will be filled exploring the amazing back country within the mountain.
When it comes time to grab some lunch, there are a few places within the mountain where you can get a bite to eat. The Summit House Restaurant offers steaks, fresh halibut and an amazing view to boot. There is also the Bullwheel Pub, Cascade Grill, Glacier Express and the Snorting Elk Deli, to name a few. If it’s a cold beer or a tantalizing mixed drink you’d like, check out the Snorting Elk Cellar, also voted the “Top Ski Bar in the West” by Snow Country Magazine.
There are a number of different accommodations in and at the base of Crystal Mountain. These include: chalet suites at Alta Crystal Resort, The Alpine Inn, the Village Inn, the Quicksilver Lodge and more.
There is also parking for RV’s if you travel to the area via an RV.
So, if a good time in the state of Washington is what you are looking for then spend your winter vacation at Crystal Mountain and you won’t regret that decision. |
