Northstar has taken a different path, one I think you will like. This easily accessible resort is proud of the 13 specially contoured Terrain and Adventure Parks. Each season they groom in 7 of the usual Terrain parks with half pipes and rails. Northstar’s parks rate in the top 10 of all N. America Terrain Parks. But, they then add 6 Adventure Parks with contoured bumps, banks and gullies to capture the glory. These freestyle areas are kid magnets. No more simple linked turns, these places are challenging and exciting!
With a base elevation of only 6300’ the snow can sometimes be a little light. Northstar has met that challenge with the largest N. Shore snowmaking program. They are able to cover up to 50% of their runs and all of their terrain parks with man-made snow. You can book your vacation with confidence. With the recent opening of 200 acres of advanced runs on Lookout Mountain even the advanced riders in your group will be tired and happy.

The top of the mountain Summit Deck Grill provides a full service bar, BBQ and full 360 degree views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Mountains. The real treats are down in The Village. Finish your snow day with some pan seared salmon at Timbercreek. Walk to the Ice Rink for more cold weather fun. The nearby fire pit provides the perfect do-it-yourself location for the S’mores Kiosk.
